Overview
From childhood, acting has defined Phoebe’s life and work. “You don’t have to do much to be an actor,” she says, except “speak and remember lines.” In 2018, as a 26-year-old actor working in London, she’s putting that theory to the test: auditioning for television, filming feminist comedy sketches, acting onstage. But in November, doctors discover an incurable tumour in her brain that will severely affect her speech and memory, the “two very basic things” required to act.
The Glad Game is Phoebe’s story; the story of finding yourself in the darkest moments, about leaning on those who love you and finding reasons everywhere to be glad.
